In this lesson, we decided on the stimulus we are going to use as a starting point for our performance. Our stimulus is the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness". Our initial ideas were to explore the themes of resilience, determination, and the human spirit in the face of adversity.

We were inspired by the main character's journey from homelessness to becoming a successful stockbroker. We thought about how we could incorporate these themes into our performance, perhaps by having a character who is struggling with a difficult situation but is determined to overcome it.

I did further research on the real-life story of Chris Gardner, the man whose life the movie is based on. I read articles about his life, watched interviews with him, and even read some of his books. Through doing this research, I found out more about his personality, his struggles, and his philosophy on life. This will help with creating our performance because it gives us a deeper understanding of the character and the themes we want to explore.

Through this research, I decided to create a character who, like Chris Gardner, is struggling with homelessness but is determined to change his situation. This character will be resilient, determined, and optimistic, even in the face of adversity. He will be a symbol of hope and the human spirit, showing that it is possible to overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
