Where is the hormone insulin produced?

2. Within the pancreas, there are clusters of cells known as the Islets of Langerhans.
3. These islets contain several types of cells, including beta cells.
4. Beta cells are responsible for producing insulin.
5. When the level of glucose in your blood rises, beta cells release insulin into your bloodstream.
6. Insulin then helps regulate the blood glucose level by enabling cells to take in glucose to be used for energy.
