Question 4According to Dr. Dixon, why do some teachersview technology as a waste of time? (Please check the three that apply.)1 pointTechnologicaltools can take a long time to learn how to use and manage.Sometimestechnology won’t turn on or won’t load during a lesson.Itcan take the teacher a long time to understand the technology.Technology can never fit in with the curriculum.
Solution
The question is asking for three reasons why some teachers might view technology as a waste of time according to Dr. Dixon.
-
Technological tools can take a long time to learn how to use and manage: This implies that teachers might find technology a waste of time because they have to spend a significant amount of time learning how to use and manage these tools, which could be used for other educational purposes.
-
Sometimes technology won’t turn on or won’t load during a lesson: This suggests that technical issues, such as technology not turning on or loading during a lesson, can disrupt the flow of the class and waste valuable teaching time, leading some teachers to view it as a waste of time.
-
It can take the teacher a long time to understand the technology: Similar to the first point, this reason suggests that the time it takes for a teacher to understand how to use the technology can be seen as a waste of time, as this time could be used for other educational activities.
The fourth option, "Technology can never fit in with the curriculum", is not a valid reason according to the question as it is not asking for reasons why technology cannot fit in with the curriculum, but rather why it is viewed as a waste of time.

I completely agree with your points. Technology indeed has the potential to revolutionize the education sector. Answering this question in my opinion one of the advantages of using technology in the classroom is also a disadvantage at the same time .. “ being universal” . Technology is our new world (majority of us) , but then there are some that it’s foreign to and that’s okay but just means it shouldn’t be used to depend on. Although it can be entertaining & helpful at times ; socializing comes with so many more benefits in a classroom . The cost of the equipment may not be a problem for the school ; but it may not be worth it because of the distractions it can come with .. on the other hand it offers a completely different learning approach and allows mobile learning to take over which could mean in & out of the classroom , with less paperwork . So in all honesty you have to weigh your pros & cons ; it could work for some more than others but it can be beneficial to allCompliment: Start by acknowledging something you found positive or interesting in your peer's post.
