Why Aphrodite called the Cyprian?

Aphrodite is often referred to as the "Cyprian" because of her strong association with the island of Cyprus. According to Greek mythology, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was born from the sea foam near Cyprus after Cronus castrated his father Uranus and threw his genitals into the sea. The place of her birth was said to be near Paphos, on the western part of the island. Therefore, she is often referred to as the "Cyprian". The island was also one of the main centers of her worship, further strengthening her connection to Cyprus.
