Solution

To time your slides in MS PowerPoint, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open your PowerPoint presentation.
  2. Click on the "Slide Show" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  3. In the "Set Up" group, click on "Rehearse Timings."
  4. Now, your presentation will start in full-screen mode, and a timer will start at the top left corner of the screen. This timer records the amount of time you spend on each slide, including any animation steps that occur, and the use of any triggers on each slide.
  5. Navigate through your presentation as you would during the actual presentation. The timer will automatically record the time you spend on each slide.
  6. Once you've gone through all the slides, a message box will appear asking if you want to keep the new slide timings. Click "Yes" to save the timings.
  7. The timings for each slide will now be displayed in Slide Sorter view under each slide.

During your actual presentation, you can use these custom timings by going to the "Slide Show" tab, and in the "Start Slide Show" group, select "Use Timings." This will ensure your presentation runs automatically at the pace you set during your rehearsal.
