A saturated solution is a solution that contains the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in a solvent at a given temperature. When the solvent is removed from a saturated solution, the solute particles no longer have enough solvent to remain dissolved.

As a result, the solute particles start to come together and arrange themselves in a regular repeating pattern, forming a crystal. This process is known as crystallization.

The reason why the solute particles arrange themselves in such a pattern is due to the forces of attraction between them. These forces cause the particles to align in a way that minimizes their energy, resulting in the formation of a crystal.
