Solution

  1. Location: The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and spinal cord, located in the dorsal cavity of the body. The peripheral nervous system (PNS), on the other hand, consists of nerves and ganglia outside of the brain and spinal cord, extending to the limbs and organs.

  2. Function: The CNS is responsible for integrating sensory information and responding accordingly. It is the command center of the body, where all critical thinking, perception, and coordination occur. The PNS, however, is responsible for connecting the CNS to the rest of the body. It carries sensory information to the CNS and motor commands from the CNS to the muscles and glands.
