  1. Bartending and Customer Service Training: This training is crucial as it equips the staff with the necessary skills to serve customers effectively and professionally. It covers aspects such as how to interact with customers, how to handle difficult situations, and how to serve alcohol responsibly. This benefits the staff by enhancing their customer service skills, which can lead to better customer satisfaction and potentially increased tips. It also ensures that they understand how to serve alcohol in a way that minimizes the risk of over-consumption and related issues.

  2. ServeWise Training: This is an online training program provided by the Health Promotion Agency (HPA) that focuses on host responsibility. It covers topics such as the effects of alcohol, how to refuse service to intoxicated patrons, and how to deal with difficult situations. This training benefits the staff by providing them with the knowledge and skills to ensure the safe and responsible service of alcohol, which is a legal requirement for all licensed premises.

  3. Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ): This qualification is required for all staff who have been employed for more than six months. It involves demonstrating knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and its implications for the operation of licensed premises, as well as the host responsibility requirements for a manager of a licensed premises. This benefits the staff by ensuring they are fully aware of their legal obligations, which can help to prevent any breaches of the law that could result in penalties for the premises or individual staff members.
