Solution

Martin Luther King Jr. believed that nonviolent protest was a more powerful and moral approach to achieving social change. He argued that violence only leads to more violence and hatred, whereas nonviolence can transform opponents into allies and create a more just and loving society. Even in cases of self-defense, he felt that responding with violence would undermine the moral high ground and the ultimate goal of achieving true peace and equality. Nonviolent protest, according to MLK, also had the power to appeal to the conscience of the broader public and bring about lasting change through love and understanding rather than fear and destruction.
