(i) The medium/channel of communication:

  1. Technical Issues: One of the most common barriers in the medium/channel of communication is technical issues. This includes problems like poor network connection, low-quality video or audio, or a malfunctioning device. These issues can disrupt the flow of communication and lead to misunderstandings or misinterpretations.

  2. Overload of Information: Another barrier is the overload of information. If the medium/channel of communication is flooded with too much information, it can be overwhelming for the recipient. This can lead to important messages being overlooked or misunderstood.

(ii) The recipient/receiver:

  1. Lack of Attention: One of the barriers at the recipient/receiver end is the lack of attention. If the receiver is not fully attentive, they might miss out on important details of the communication. This could be due to distractions, preoccupied thoughts, or lack of interest in the message.

  2. Preconceived Notions: Another barrier is the receiver's preconceived notions or biases. If the receiver has already formed an opinion or a bias, they might interpret the message based on that, rather than what is actually being communicated. This can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.
