WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF E COMMERCE MODEL
Question
WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF E COMMERCE MODEL
Solution
E-commerce, also known as electronic commerce, refers to the buying and selling of goods or services using the internet. There are four main types of e-commerce models that can describe almost every transaction that takes place between consumers and businesses.
-
Business to Consumer (B2C): This is the most common e-commerce model. Businesses sell to consumers. It’s what most people think of when they hear "e-commerce." An example would be any individual purchasing a pair of shoes from an online retailer.
-
Business to Business (B2B): In a B2B model, a business sells its products or services to another business. Sometimes the buyer resells to consumers, and other times the buyer is the end user. An example would be a business buying software to use in its office.
-
Consumer to Consumer (C2C): In a C2C model, consumers sell directly to other consumers. Platforms like eBay, Olx are perfect examples of this.
-
Consumer to Business (C2B): In a C2B model, consumers sell their products or services to a business or organization. An example would be a photographer licensing their photos for a business to use.
In addition to these four, there are other types of e-commerce models as well like Business to Government (B2G), Government to Business (G2B), Government to Citizen (G2C) etc.
