Great school, truly is what you make of it. During my time here, I have made a lot of friends, gotten ahead of classes needed to graduate, and secured an internship at an engineering firm. On top of it all, nothing beats being in Chicago!
Overall 4.9
UIC has evolved into a progressive institution, rivaling the renown of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a successful alumnus, I can vouch for its excellence, with top-notch faculty and modern facilities. UIC’s commitment to innovative learning prepares students globally, promoting diverse, inclusive learning experiences.
Overall 4.9
Campus is located in downtown Chicago. Easy access to companies, restaurants, and all kinds of things to do. Business school is on the way up and Professors are engaged and smart.
Overall 4.8
So glad I transferred here when I did. I wish I would have taken all my four years of undergrad here. Tuition is affordable and aid helped cover everything. The people I've here are absolutely wonderful, all the Professors I had were amazing and so caring towards their students. The diversity at UIC is also very comforting.

good school
Overall 4.6
I went here for my undergrad and am now back for my masters. This is a really great school- some of the programs here are the best in the state and country. Even though it's a commuter school, it can be easy to make friends in classes. Other students are really friendly, don't be discouraged that the majority of the student body lives off-campus.
Overall 4.5
If you love diversity and opportunity come here.

Depressing school and awful professors.
Overall 1
Absolutely terrible school. They have screwed me over so many times. I never felt so miserable in my entire life in one place. Uic doesn’t even give you a heads up when a new person is coming to your dorm. I’m losing sleep here and the school spirit is dead. I will be transferring after my first year.

It only gets worse, go to a community college and THINK TWICE, THREE TIMES, FIND A "SIGNIFICANT OTHER" and think FOUR TIMES, before attending this university. The students get prioritized below the staff, the professors are literally the "gods". everything else is a ripoff. don't forget, it's a commuter school, not whatever they think it is now.
Overall 1
This is the worst university I had ever been to. I never felt welcomed at this university. Some of the professors and staff are just flat-out disrespectful and I would rather pay more to go to a college that actually cares about their students and their respect. I am glad I transferred after a semester of enduring the mess at this university.
Overall 1
Quality of online classes is terrible, and I was able to tolerate it immediately after Covid crisis started because it wasn't professors fault... but a year later, they haven't improved at all and it's a shame that instead of lowering the price, it's just getting more expensive to study at this hideous institution.
Overall 1
Applying to Uic was the worst experience ever
Overall 1.2
You cant sign up for the courses you need to graduate, had to take an extra semester because its so crowded over here. They don't have enough professors. They don't have good professors. Enviornment full of kids who stare at the ground and do not socialize. Pretty depressing.
Overall 1.6
just how are you gonna be able to find a worse and more depressing campus than uic's
Overall 1.6
WORST SCHOOL EVER, RUN THE OTHER WAY! They do the bare minimum to give you a diploma, students well being is irrelevant. I've been harassed by multiple professors.
Overall 1.7
Please don't go here. Professors care only about their research and nothing else. There are constant crimes going on the outskirts of campus. The food gives me food poisoning all the time.
