If you're a veteran using your GI Bill for school, come to SCSU. Great education for adult students who are more focused and have a set plan. Huge military presence and veteran support. Awesome science department for nursing, PA, PT, pre-dental, and pre-med students like myself. Exercise science is also huge here. I'm glad I chose SCSU over UCONN.

This school is so fire and I'm so glad I came here. My mental health has improved so much ever since I came here and I don't regret coming here.
Overall 4.4
Lovely campus.
Overall 4.4
Southern is a great university. Their faculty and staff are there to help you and you are not in huge lecture halls for most of your classes. The opportunities on campus are abundant and diverse. Southern isn't appreciated as much as it should be, love this school.

Amazing campus, love the atmosphere.. Food is horrible
Bad reviews
Overall 1
Dont go to this school. The professors are not helpful.
Overall 1.2
- Horrible school - Professors do not care about whether you fail or not - Had so many instances where I had to report professors for being unprofessional - I lived in a dorm and there was a rat infestation and it took the school A WHOLE MONTH to get an exterminator to act on the issue. - Food is horrible
Overall 1.4
My experience at this school has been subpar. While it has a diverse student body and some passionate faculty, the lack of resources, inadequate academic support, and poor communication make it a challenging educational environment.
Overall 1.9
dining hall food is terrible and the fact that there’s only one dining hall is ridiculous. the food at bagel wagon, Starbucks, and student center are SO OVER PRICED. WE ARE COLLEGE KIDS WE ARE BROKE!! Avoid living on campus, reslife does not care about you. and the staff and RAs are awfully rude to you. Everyone here is clicky. Avoid.
Overall 1.9
Dorms are disgusting and unsafe with moldy air filters, bugs infested dorms, bad plumbing, leaking through the ceilings, rude and disrespectful professors, food that makes you sick, and bus schedules that are incorrect. Education for my degree has been good if the professor was kind or when I taught myself for half of my college career.
Overall 2
It's nothing good for commuters really, a lotta questionable deductions when you start heading up lines/self advocate, feels overpriced sometimes, and the counselling leaves a lot to be desired. Scholarship though, so not all that bad and the food has imroved.
Overall 2
You can hear through the walls in the dorms, they clean the dorm bathrooms at inconvenient times. The food is gross, I never eat.
Overall 2
The campus has potential but the food at Conn Hall is so distractingly nasty that the campus goes to complete crap, the campus is boring unless you're willing to be a ratchet mess to have fun.
