Good reviews
Overall 4.8
This is a decent school if you can't afford to pay thousands of dollars for education at a top University. They have some really good professors and the location is awesome.
Overall 4.8
I have loved my time at Mines. The school can be challenging but the people around you are always supportive and willing to help. The school is full of opportunities, both professional and social. The school does a good job of supporting student clubs and organizations and their events.
Overall 4.7
To be honest the only bad thing here is the wifi. Maybe the food is bad if you're eating gourmet food an a daily basis, but if you're a normal working class person, it's amazing. The campus music scene is bustling thanks to live music provided by campus radio station KTEQ and the physics dept is amazing.
Overall 4.5
Mines is a fun and interactive place to be. The food isn't all that bad, it's just repetitive. The area is beautiful and the classes are challenging.
Overall 4.5
It's an amazing school filled with the most genuine people. The professors truly care about you. The school has so many clubs for the size, there's one for everything, if not it's super quick to start your own. The local area is the best so many outdoor options great downtown. The career building is the thing the school is the best at!

Worth Studying Here!
Overall 4.1
Mines is an amazing school with so many resources for Engineering students. They push you hard, here. If you don't want to learn, why are you in college?
The students are so introverted on average that there is not much socializing to be had. It is kind of a bad part of town but campus should be pretty safe. The food is good. Awesome facilities.
Overall 4.1
SDSMT is a nice smaller school. Classes are hard but overall the return on investment is great. All the buildings are really well kept even though some are on the older side. Campus security works 24/7 and has helped me jump start my car a lot and overall make you feel safe on Campus. Surbeck Center is open 24/7 and is a decent place to study late.
Overall 4.1
People within and around SDSMT are some of the kindest, most caring people I've ever met in the US. Most professors, regardless of whether it is a hard or easy class, truly wanted you to succeed in class and life. For its price, I believe I got more than I deserved. However, food in cafeteria barely change and internet does randomly DC.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
The upper administration of the School of Mines were former politicians and had no expertise in education. Their administration resulted in good faculty leaving and/or retiring from the school. The buildings and labs are outdated and old. They do not invest in renewal of the lab equipment, or facilities. Do not waste your time with them.
Overall 1.5
The campus is horrible, and the professor are horrible at lecturing.
Overall 1.9
Doesn't really seem like faculty cares about students.
Overall 1.9
The administration for this school and the board of regents as a whole have their heads so far up their asses they completely lost touch with reality. The school itself is a massive scam! They hide graduation details in fine print (or not even in print), and don't tell you its an issue until the semester of graduation! Avoid SD BOR at all costs!
Overall 1.9
it had to be placed in the low income place, so don't go out alone at night
Overall 2
This school prides itself on freshman and sophomore "weed out courses" that give it an incredibly high drop-out rate. Tenured profs often have students reading textbooks rather than lecturing. Creepy people often roaming campus. School acts like it cares about student's mental health, but has repeatedly shown that it could not care less.
Overall 2
The school is very gloomy. Students are doing nothing except playing video games. NO PARTIES AT ALL! The food is awful. I feel like i'm far away from civilization in this school. However, very professional and respectful professors.
