Good reviews
Overall 5
Great environment, diligent professors.
Overall 5
I love the food, the people and the convenience of everything close together.
Overall 4.9
I don't understand why people are so critical about this school. Great campus with great vibes. It has a fantastic town that's only a 5 minutes walk away. The food is great, especially from the Student Union Building. Lots of clubs and opportunities to meet people with similar interests. Gorgeous campus surrounded by incredible mountains.
Overall 4.9
The campus is right in the Hudson valley, great place for hiking. lots of local restaurants that have good food. lots of parties on weekends when covid isnt a thing and greek life is prominent but not so prominent that you feel excluded if you arent in it
Overall 4.8
I love the atmosphere as well as variety of classes and degrees offered. It's a well kept campus with a ton of clubs in a beautiful area.
Overall 4.8
Definitely a very specific vibe here in terms of social life - if you're not an artsy/outdoorsy person there might not be much for you here.
Overall 4.8
I loved every second of my stay at SUNY New Paltz. The social life, the academics, the clubs, the town all fantastic
Overall 4.6
I am so glad I transferred here. So many positive vibes on this campus.
Overall 4.5
The only true thing I can complain about this school is the food. The dining hall is not great but you just get used to it and the dorms. Freshman dorms are badddd. I'm breaking out because of the old pipes that were never changed so the water has something in it that's making me break out and there most definitely is mold in the buildings.
Overall 4.5
I do not regret choosing Suny NP. I miss the dining hall there are so many choices there is no way you won't find something you like. The school offers countless clubs and ways to meet new people. I met my BEST friends here. There is something for everyone. Don't be lazy, do your work and you won't have a problem with professors. Town is amazing
Bad reviews
Overall 1.4
I was in a smaller art department, and the head of the department was rude and treated everyone poorly. Due to having a learning disability I was called lazy when I tried asking for help with learning how to use programs. For 4 years I was isolated and alone bc of my social anxiety. I had sloppy roommates. The food is terrible! go somewhere else.
Overall 1.4
The administration has openly lied about student safety and how students feel about the campus. They force professors to lie and this campus is not worth the cost.
Overall 1.5
To put it simply, I legitimately wanted to die by the end of my first year. The food was horrible and I could barely eat any of it, I was put into the hospital for food poisoning. The room I lived in was so incredibly hot that I puked from heat exhaustion. The people there were awful, and one of my professors was a bumbling idiot. Town was nice.
Overall 1.8
Honestly new paltz has sucked the life out of me. I can not wait to graduate. Also poli sci department here is rough and basically killed my dream. I am exhausted from this school.
Overall 1.9
I can not wait to graduate and be done with this mess. I picked this school for its education department. The professors were great however the advisors and high departments are awful. You have to go through a million people to get your questions answers. I had no guidance and was given passive aggressive replies. Every semester was an issue.
