It’s great! So much opportunity and knowledge!

"Mileage May Vary" is probably the definition of this school. If you are committed to your studies, interested or at least somewhat concerned about enviro issues, and willing to work with professors who won't baby you, this is a great school for you. Courses are tough and fulfilling, and you can be as social/involved as you want with SU next door.

I love it here! The small campus makes it easier to get research opportunities and bond with professors.
Overall 4.2
This is a school for environmental science, don't come expecting anything else, its a challenging science based curriculum, its in a meh city, it has all the FREE amenities of Syracuse University so those rankings should be much higher, people love to complain because they're not doing well in classes, if you work hard you can do well. I have a 4.0

If you are 100% into science, biology, conservation, etc, ESF is the best school. Amazing professors, amazing classes, amazing clubs, amazing opportunities. The Career office will never leave you jobless and most professors are willing to help if you just ask. I love this school. I don't want to leave.
Overall 4.2
Really homely feeling school. The campus is in a little nook of Syracuse, right next to Syracuse University. With ESF's relation and to SU, you can get the best of a large campus experience with the homely nature of a small school. Absolutely love it here.

I really enjoyed my time here. The people were great and the experiences were awesome. The professors are the actual experts in their fields so the level of education you receive at ESF is above and beyond what colleges can generally offer.
Overall 4
The atmosphere is pretty comfortable. It's surprisingly not very competitive, which I appreciate, because I feel like that doesn't contribute anything positive to the learning experience. Most of the students and faculty are very accepting and understanding, but there are still some instances of bullying.
Overall 4
Choosing ESF was one of the best decisions of my life! You have access to all of the clubs specific to ESF as well as SU (unless things have drastically changed in the past 3 years). A majority of the professors are there to inspire and share their passion with you, even in classes that are more difficult. Stumpy for Life!

Don't come here!! They are nice just to get you to commit, collect your money, and then they treat you terribly!! The biggest mistake, choosing to come here.
Overall 1.6
I transferred out of this school after my freshman year. I was miserable and disliked all of my classes. The city itself felt unsafe. The campus itself is ugly and the social aspect is tough. Housing is a nightmare, the food is disappointing, and you'll likely be spending all your time working on school work instead of enjoying college life.
Overall 1.8
Someone else said it but you really do have to be a specific type of person to fit in this school. Most professors lack the ability to teach and make classes a living hell.Which they really enjoy. a few are amazing and down to earth. Being next to SU is great because you get most of the opportunities SU students get without the price.
Overall 1.9
they continue to remove bike racks and don't put new ones up, so there is never anywhere to park your bike. Forget about transferring into this school, none of the core classes ever line up if you have to take more than one or two in a semester. The classes will get moved form one semester to the following one and students are not notified...

Do I love it here? Yes. Does this school make me depressed? Also yes. Most professors are super accommodating and nice, and if you are very much interested in environmental biology, this is the place to be. Just dont expect the Syracuse to be the city of your dreams, and know that its not easy.
