Great campus. Best professors whom you can actually interact with.

I really love Cape Breton! It's a great place to study and the people in this area are super nice.

Great profs! I attended CBU for almost five years - two degrees and three years later, most still know my name and will ask what I'm up to when I run into them at the grocery store! Great educational experience.

I have a BSc & BBA from CBU. Small classes are a benefit. Theres a free tutoring centre for math, science & business courses. If research opportunities/working with a prof interests you, this is the place to get noticed. School spirit is amazing. Deff recommend joining the Orange Army, they even travel to away games! The cafe food needs help :

Lots of love for CBU!
Overall 4.2
I was reluctant to enroll at CBU at first, but now after being accepted to a prestigious graduate program following my graduation and experience at CBU, I have realized just how invaluable my time there has been. I wouldn't trade my time at CBU for any other university in Canada. CBU has given me endless opportunities, confidence, and competence.

Go anywhere but here...

The Nursing program here is terrible.50% failed Physiology midterm no changes made, everyone needs high averages on the final to pass. No help avail. They just want to fail as many as they can for revenue even with our health care crisis. When you bring it to Dean of nursings attention she ignores and is rude.No one likes it here.go elsewhere.
Overall 1.3
Some professors are rude. Some are good. Overall, my experience here was less than mediocre. The only thing I enjoyed were the people I met. The staff is slow, the food has no variety and hardly is ever tasty. There is never anything going on. I would never recommend this school.
Overall 1.4
Administrative nightmare, prepare to wait a week for a response. Professors are entitled and rude, had one call me stupid after I didn’t do well on an assignment. Location sucks it’s in the middle of a highway, as well as food options on campus are very limited. Would not recommend, had an awful time during my attendance here.
Overall 1.4
I personally do not like school and most of the lecturers or the town I don’t recommend
Overall 1.4
Very disorganized university.
Overall 1.5
They suck in every one of their departments, I've never had a single smooth interaction with them. They especially suck in figuring out their students' financials. Waited almost two months for them to apply one of my scholarships. Takes forever to receive email help from them and their responses never helped me.

Cons about CBU
In the middle of the woods off a highway
50 bucks for a parking pass and never any parking
Internet never works
Most Profs don't care and don't prepare you for assessments
Cannot take any classes you want due to conflicting times
If you aren't engineering or nursing good luck getting a nice schedule
No social aspect

Campus is located near nothing. Library closes sections during certain times of day, and is frequently closed Sundays. The bus system is among the worst. Few class choices/few summer courses. One of the worst rated schools in Canada. Get yourself a car, drive by the ocean, and go to the gym. It will save your life.
