There are two ways in which newly assembled viruses can be released from host cells. Enveloped viruses are usually released through (exocytosis), while naked viruses are typically released through (rupture).

There are indeed two main ways in which newly assembled viruses can be released from host cells.

1. Enveloped Viruses: These types of viruses are usually released through a process called exocytosis. In this process, the virus is first enveloped with a part of the cell's plasma membrane. The enveloped virus then moves towards the cell surface and fuses with the plasma membrane. This fusion allows the virus to exit the cell while still being enclosed in a portion of the cell's membrane, hence the term 'enveloped virus'.

2. Naked Viruses: These types of viruses are typically released through a process that involves the rupture or lysis of the host cell. In this process, the newly formed viruses accumulate within the cell until there are so many that the cell bursts open, or ruptures, releasing the viruses to infect other cells. This is a more destructive method of viral release as it results in the death of the host cell.
