Solution

(i) Phylum: A phylum is one of the highest levels of organization of life forms. It is a taxonomic rank below Kingdom and above Class. In the animal kingdom, for example, there are several phyla, including Chordata (which includes all animals with a spinal cord, like humans), Arthropoda (which includes insects and spiders), and Mollusca (which includes squids and clams).

(ii) Class: Class is a rank in the biological classification (taxonomy) that comes below Phylum and above Order. For example, in the phylum Chordata, there are several classes, including Mammalia (which includes humans and dogs), Aves (which includes birds), and Reptilia (which includes snakes and turtles).

(iii) Family: Family is a rank in the biological classification that comes below Order and above Genus. For example, in the order Carnivora, there are several families, including Canidae (which includes dogs and wolves), Ursidae (which includes bears), and Felidae (which includes cats).

(iv) Order: Order is a rank in the biological classification that comes below Class and above Family. For example, in the class Mammalia, there are several orders, including Carnivora (which includes dogs and bears), Primates (which includes humans and monkeys), and Cetacea (which includes whales and dolphins).

(v) Genus: Genus is a rank in the biological classification that comes below Family and above Species. For example, in the family Canidae, there are several genera, including Canis (which includes dogs and wolves), Vulpes (which includes foxes), and Urocyon (which includes gray foxes).
