Solution

The profit share in a business is directly proportional to the investment amount and the time period of investment.

Given that A's investment was thrice the investment of B and the period of his investments was two times the period of investment of B, A's share in the business is 3 times B's investment * 2 times B's time = 6 times B's share.

So, if B's share is Rs. 5000, A's share would be 6 * Rs. 5000 = Rs. 30000.

Therefore, their total profit would be A's share + B's share = Rs. 30000 + Rs. 5000 = Rs. 35000.
