Solution

Sure, I can provide a reflection on my problem-solving abilities.

During my time in the BCom program, I have had numerous opportunities to hone my problem-solving skills. One instance that stands out was during a group project in my Business Strategy course. We were tasked with analyzing a struggling company and proposing a comprehensive turnaround strategy.

The first step was to define the problem. We did this by conducting a thorough analysis of the company's financial statements, market position, and operational efficiency. We identified the main issues as declining market share, high operational costs, and an outdated product line.

Next, we addressed the problem by brainstorming potential solutions. We used critical thinking to evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of each solution. This involved a lot of research and analysis, including SWOT and PESTEL analyses.

Finally, we proposed a solution based on our analysis. Our proposal included a new marketing strategy to regain market share, cost-cutting measures to improve operational efficiency, and a plan for updating the product line. We supported our proposal with evidence from our research and analysis.

This project was a great demonstration of my problem-solving abilities. It required me to apply rigorous analysis and critical thinking to define a problem and propose an effective, evidence-based solution. I believe these skills will be highly valuable in my future career.
