The Ottoman dynasty was not a part of the Sultanate. The Ottoman Empire was a state that controlled much of Southeast Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa between the 14th and early 20th centuries. It was founded at the end of the 13th century in northwestern Anatolia in the town of Söğüt (modern-day Bilecik Province) by the Turkoman tribal leader Osman I.

On the other hand, the Lodhi, Slave, and Sayyid dynasties were all part of the Delhi Sultanate, a Muslim kingdom based mostly in Delhi that stretched over large parts of the Indian subcontinent for 320 years (1206–1526).
