Solution

The logical fallacy that appears in this passage is D. Slippery slope. This fallacy occurs when a person asserts that some event must inevitably follow from another without any argument for the inevitability of the event in question. In this case, the assertion is that not understanding the importance of deadlines will inevitably lead to not getting into college and not getting a good job, which is a series of events that are not necessarily connected in the way the argument suggests.

Next thing to think about is training. Now I love this quote, If you think education is expensive and time consuming, try ignorance. So what does that actually mean? Now, training is one of those implementation tasks that when you're running late managers can get very happy about, oh, we don't have to do that or we'll just get them to read the user manual. And so on. And they try to either minimize it or cancel it, because they want to meet the implementation deadline. But what has been shown time and time again, is that while you may save money and time in the short term, users, staff, customers, etc, who cannot use the system properly, which is where the ignorance comes in. Actually, it ends up actually being far more expensive and far more time consuming, because they make mistakes. They don't use the system as optimally as it can. They don't know about the functionality that it offers them. And they almost tend to use it like they would do system. So a lot of the benefits that could be realized or just not realized. Explain what the following quote means in relation to 'Training' “If you think education is expensive and time-consuming - try ignorance” Bok
