Solution

  1. Particle Size: The particle size in a solution is usually much smaller than that in a colloid. In a solution, the solute particles are usually individual atoms, ions, or small molecules. In a colloid, the particles are larger and can be individual large molecules or aggregates of smaller particles.

  2. Visibility: The particles in a solution are usually not visible to the naked eye, even in a concentrated solution. In a colloid, the particles are often large enough to scatter light, making them visible to the naked eye. This scattering of light by colloidal particles is known as the Tyndall effect.
