The Communication Pathways Model used in class consists of four major components:

1. Sender: This is the person or entity that initiates the communication. The sender has a message that they want to convey to another person or group. They are responsible for encoding the message in a way that can be understood by the receiver.

2. Message: This is the information or idea that the sender wants to convey. The message can be verbal or non-verbal, written or spoken, and it can include visual aids or other forms of communication.

3. Medium: This is the method or tool used to deliver the message. It could be a letter, a phone call, an email, a text message, a face-to-face conversation, a speech, a television broadcast, a social media post, etc.

4. Receiver: This is the person or group for whom the message is intended. The receiver decodes the message, interpreting its meaning. The receiver's understanding of the message can be influenced by their own knowledge, experiences, and perceptions.

In this model, feedback is also an important element. After receiving and interpreting the message, the receiver often sends a response back to the sender, completing the communication loop. This feedback helps the sender know whether the message was received and understood as intended.
