Solution

All of the statements P, Q, and R are true about how zinc prevents the rusting of iron.

P) A galvanised iron article does not undergo oxidation. This is true because galvanisation is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to iron or steel, to prevent rusting. The zinc coating undergoes the oxidation reaction, protecting the iron.

Q) The zinc coating prevents contact of iron with air. This is also true. The zinc coating acts as a physical barrier that prevents the iron from coming into contact with oxygen in the air, thus preventing it from rusting.

R) Zinc undergoes corrosion more easily than iron. This is known as sacrificial protection. Zinc is more reactive than iron, so it will corrode first, protecting the iron. This is why zinc is used to galvanise iron.
