Nephroptosis is a failure of ascending the kidney in its right place

Nephroptosis, also known as a floating or drooping kidney, is not a failure of the kidney to ascend to its correct place. Rather, it is a condition where the kidney descends more than two vertebral bodies (or about 5 cm) when a person moves from a lying to standing position. This can occur due to a loss of the fatty tissue that normally helps to hold the kidney in place.

So, Nephroptosis is not about the kidney failing to ascend, but rather about it descending or drooping from its normal position.
