To find the median, follow these steps:

  1. Arrange the data values in ascending order.
  2. Determine the number of data values, n.
  3. If n is odd, the median is the value at position (n+1)/2 in the ordered data set.
  4. If n is even, the median is the average of the values at positions n/2 and (n/2)+1 in the ordered data set.

Remember, the median is also referred to as the second quartile, Q2. It essentially divides the data set into two equal halves.
