"Life is a game, birdie, and you get to make your own rules." A quote by an infamous writer, the same writer who is writing this very story. As I reflect back and pen out why I should be the ideal candidate, I remember the 5-year-old kid in me, with amazement in her eyes—glittering and shining after seeing her first crayon color set in a single room, which was also our house and kitchen.Sitting on the floor during summers in Delhi, I drew a freeform polygon in an attempt to draw Mother Earth. Instead of coloring it with only blue and green, I used every crayon present in the set. Since then, my world has been colorful—a space not just for human beings but to be human every day of life, to explore, to contribute, to receive, and to nurture.Starting at the age of 20, amidst the collective challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, I was in my final year of college pursuing a B.Com Honors degree from Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi. During this time, I explored various fields that I found interesting, such as HR, psychology, marketing, auditing, and even UX designing, with the aim to choose one and excel at it.I decided to take a few certificate courses in UX designing, and along with that, I exercised my writing and marketing skills by applying them in internships and in my family-owned business.Recognizing my idealistic nature and a strong desire to discern right from wrong, I ventured into auditing, commencing my career as an audit analyst at KPMG. In this role, I diligently prepared audit work papers in alignment with the company's methodologies. Unfortunately, after six months, I had to resign due to severe health issues.During my treatment and recovery period, I engaged in self-reflection and delved into the realm of neuropsychology to better understand my health issues. This experience highlighted the lack of a holistic care approach, inspiring me to establish Project Serenise, with the aim of appreciating the connection between mind, body, and spirit and creating a resourceful space for those who are struggling with life in general. The establishment of it allowed me to interact with over 500+ members of the Serenise Peer Support online community from all around the globe with a team of 5+ volunteers. While my work at KPMG allowed me to appreciate the significant role of the organizational structure, an established system, and the crucial role of hierarchy and working culture, handling and single-handedly establishing serenise taught me the real-life application of it. I am eager to apply my analytical mindset and interpersonal skills in a role that prioritizes the well-being and development of the workforce and organization overall. To bridge this skill gap and further deep dive into the intricacies of business management I would like to continuously challenge myself in practical applications of knowledge.Being admitted to XIM University represents a significant opportunity for me to further refine and apply this perspective. The unique features of the MBA-BM program, with its emphasis on exposure to industry practices, immersive courses, and real-world applications, align perfectly with my belief in the practical application of knowledge. I am eager to challenge myself within the structured environment of XIM University, honing not only my theoretical understanding but also my ability to apply that knowledge effectively in real-world scenarios.
