Sonya does not feel the force of gravity from the table because the table's mass is much smaller than the Earth's mass. Gravity is a force that depends on both mass and distance. While the table is closer to Sonya than the Earth's center, its mass is much, much smaller. The Earth's mass is so large that, even though it's center is further away, it's gravitational pull is much stronger. This is why we feel the Earth's gravity much more than the gravity of objects around us.
