After these organisms died, they sank into the sand and mud at the bottom of the sea. Over millions of years, the remains were covered by layers of mud and sand, which turned into rock due to the pressure from the layers above. The pressure and heat changed the remains into oil and gas.

  2. Use of Oil as a Source of Energy: Oil is a very dense form of energy, and it is relatively easy to transport and store. It is used in various forms of energy production. The most common use of oil is as a fuel for cars, trucks, and airplanes. Oil is also used in power plants to generate electricity. It is used in industrial processes where it is burned to produce heat, and in homes for heating. Additionally, oil is used as a raw material in the chemical industry, particularly in the production of plastics.
