Name the nerves that supply the parietal pleura

The parietal pleura is supplied by the intercostal nerves and the phrenic nerve.

1. Intercostal Nerves: These are part of the somatic nervous system and they supply the thoracic and abdominal part of the parietal pleura. They are responsible for the sensation of pain, temperature, touch, and pressure.

2. Phrenic Nerve: This nerve originates from the cervical spinal roots C3, C4, and C5. The phrenic nerve supplies the mediastinal part of the parietal pleura and the diaphragmatic pleura. It carries sensory information from these areas back to the central nervous system.
