2. The land surface heats up faster than the ocean surface because water has a higher specific heat capacity than land. This means it takes more heat energy to raise the temperature of water than land.
3. As the land's temperature rises, the air above it heats up and rises, creating a low pressure area.
4. The air above the cooler ocean is denser and flows towards the low pressure area over the land, creating a "sea breeze".
5. At night, the process is reversed. The land cools down faster than the ocean, creating a high pressure area.
6. The warmer air over the ocean rises, creating a low pressure area.
7. The cooler, denser air over the land flows towards the low pressure area over the ocean, creating a "land breeze".
