Solution

The three functions of muscle tissue are:

A. To pump blood through the heart: This is done by the cardiac muscle tissue which is found in the heart. It contracts and relaxes to pump blood throughout the body.

B. To cause movement of body parts: This is done by the skeletal muscle tissue which is attached to bones. When these muscles contract, they pull on the bones causing movement.

D. To move food through the intestines: This is done by the smooth muscle tissue which is found in the walls of organs and structures such as the esophagus, stomach, intestines, bronchi, uterus, urethra, blood vessels, and the arrector pili in the skin (which are responsible for goose bumps). They contract and relax to move food and other substances through the body.
