It is not just about hearing the words spoken by the client, but also understanding the message being conveyed. This is useful in providing efficient service because it helps to build trust and rapport with the client. It also ensures that the client feels heard and understood, which can help them to open up more and explore their feelings and thoughts in depth.

Empathy: Another feature of counselling that I find interesting is empathy. This involves being able to understand and share the feelings of the client. It's about putting yourself in the client's shoes and seeing the world from their perspective. This is useful in providing efficient service because it helps to create a safe and supportive environment for the client. It also helps the counsellor to understand the client's experiences and emotions, which can guide the counselling process and help to facilitate change and growth.
