Cytotoxic T cells are known to secrete two main types of molecules that are involved in the killing of target cells:

1. Granzymes
2. Perforin

Granzymes are serine proteases that trigger apoptosis in the target cell, leading to its death. Perforin is a protein that forms pores in the target cell membrane, allowing granzymes to enter the cell.

Complement, Interferons, and Antibodies are not secreted by cytotoxic T cells. Complement proteins are part of the immune system that enhances (complements) the ability of antibodies and phagocytic cells to clear microbes and damaged cells from an organism. Interferons are proteins released by host cells in response to the presence of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, parasites or tumor cells. Antibodies are produced by B cells to neutralize pathogens.
