As the tuning fork vibrates, it sets the surrounding air molecules into motion, creating a wave of pressure fluctuations -- sound waves. These sound waves propagate through the air, causing other air molecules they encounter to also vibrate.

When these sound waves reach your ear, they cause your eardrum to vibrate. These vibrations are then transmitted to the inner ear where they are converted into electrical signals that your brain interprets as sound. This is how you hear the sound produced by the vibrating tuning fork.
