Solution

The complete oxidation of glucose results in three main products:

  1. Carbon Dioxide (CO2): This is the main product of glucose oxidation. During the process of cellular respiration, one glucose molecule is oxidized to six carbon dioxide molecules.

  2. Water (H2O): Along with carbon dioxide, water is another product of glucose oxidation. Six water molecules are produced for each glucose molecule.

  3. Energy (ATP): The oxidation of glucose is a part of cellular respiration, a process that cells use to generate energy. The energy is stored in the form of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). The complete oxidation of one glucose molecule can generate up to 38 ATP molecules under ideal conditions. However, in reality, the number is often closer to 30 due to losses in the process.
