I became a generous person who always provided support and assistance to others without any expecting anything in return selflessly according to the behavioristic perspective. According to the view of behaviorists, my actions of helping others selflessly could be understood and formed through the principles of operant conditioning. The concept of operant conditioning was first developed by B.F. Skinner which refers to people actively learning and behaving in particular behaviors in the reward and punishment situation or conditions. In the operant conditioning process, the stimulations of reward and punishment might influence the results of behaviors. The results of behaviors are divided into two types including reinforcement and punishment. In my case, I have the behavior of providing help or support to someone generous since childhood and also receiving positive reinforcement from others such as compliments or gratitude for my generous actions, which might enhance the probability of me repeating the advantageous action in the future. According to the study, it reported that positive reinforcement can increase the children’s generosity personality, in contrast, the punishment reduces it. In addition, the effect of the level of children's generosity might persist over time. Therefore, the reinforcement process could enhance the association between generosity actions and positive. please give conclusion sensense for this paragraph.

Solution

In conclusion, the behavioristic perspective, particularly the concept of operant conditioning, provides a plausible explanation for the development of my generous behavior. The positive reinforcements I received in response to my acts of generosity have strengthened this behavior over time, making me a person who consistently offers support and assistance to others without expecting anything in return. This suggests that our behaviors and personalities can be significantly shaped by our experiences and the responses we receive from our environment.
