Question
Which of the following actions a pilgrim cannot do in the state of Ihram?Select ALL correct optionsHunt animalsSay TalbiyahCutting branches of trees in Makkahmake an intention
Solution
In the state of Ihram, a pilgrim cannot:
-
Hunt animals: Hunting or helping in hunting is strictly prohibited during Ihram. This includes all land animals.
-
Cut branches of trees in Makkah: Cutting trees or green plants in the boundaries of the Haram (sanctified area) of Makkah, whether in the state of Ihram or not, is not allowed.
Saying Talbiyah and making an intention are not prohibited. In fact, they are part of the rituals of Hajj and Umrah. The Talbiyah is a prayer recited by pilgrims and making an intention (Niyyah) is the act of intending to perform a particular ritual.
