Solution

To ensure that a particular Group Policy Object (GPO) is applied to a specific group of computers regardless of their location in the Active Directory hierarchy, you should use Security Filtering. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC).
  2. In the console tree, expand the forest or domain that contains the GPO you want to filter.
  3. Expand Group Policy Objects, and then click the GPO you want to filter.
  4. In the details pane, on the Scope tab, under Security Filtering, click Add.
  5. In the Select User, Computer, or Group dialog box, specify the computers that you want the GPO to apply to. You can do this by typing the name of the computers and clicking Check Names, or by clicking Advanced and searching for the computers.
  6. Click OK.

By doing this, only the computers specified in the Security Filtering section will have the GPO applied to them, regardless of their location in the Active Directory hierarchy.
