Where is visceral muscle located and by what is it controlled?

Visceral muscle, also known as smooth muscle, is located in various parts of the body. It is found in the walls of hollow organs such as the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. It is also present in the walls of passageways, such as the bronchi of the lungs and the ducts of certain glands.

Visceral muscle is controlled by the autonomic nervous system, which is the part of the nervous system responsible for control of the bodily functions not consciously directed, such as breathing, the heartbeat, and digestive processes. This means that we do not have voluntary control over these muscles, they contract and relax without us having to think about it.
