Solution

  1. Absorption: The hard foam in the soundproof panels is a material that absorbs sound waves. When sound waves hit the foam, the energy of the sound wave is converted into heat energy. This reduces the amount of sound that is reflected back into the room, thus reducing the overall noise level.

  2. Reflection: The outer layer of the hard foam can also reflect some of the sound waves back towards the source. This means that less sound is able to penetrate through the panel and into the studio.

  3. Vacuum Barrier: The vacuum between the two sheets of hard foam serves as an excellent barrier for sound. Sound waves need a medium to travel through, and a vacuum provides no such medium. Therefore, any sound that makes it through the first layer of foam will not be able to pass through the vacuum, further enhancing the soundproofing effect of the panel.
