Under what condition is Hook’s law valid?

Hook's Law is valid under the condition that the deformation caused by the force is elastic, meaning the material returns to its original shape after the force is removed. This law is also only valid within the elastic limit of the material, meaning it can't be stretched or compressed beyond a certain point. If the material is deformed beyond this elastic limit, it may not return to its original shape and Hook's Law will no longer apply.
