Solution
As a citizen of Mexico in New Spain, my desire for independence from Spain is fueled by several factors.
Firstly, the Spanish decisions and control of trade have been oppressive and limiting. Spain has imposed strict trade laws that only allow us to trade with them. This monopoly has stifled our economic growth as we are unable to explore other potentially beneficial trade partnerships. We are also subjected to high taxes and tariffs which further strain our economy.
Secondly, the wealth and resources of our land are being exploited and shipped off to Spain. Our gold, silver, and other valuable resources are being mined and taken away, leaving us with little to benefit from our own land's wealth. This exploitation is not only economically damaging but also environmentally destructive.
In addition, the wealth generated from our resources is used to enrich Spain while we remain impoverished. The wealth disparity is glaring and unjust. We work the lands, mine the minerals but see little of the profits.
Therefore, independence from Spain would mean the ability to control our trade, keep our resources and wealth within our borders, and make decisions that are in the best interest of our people. It would mean economic growth, social justice, and environmental preservation.
In conclusion, the desire for independence is driven by the need for economic freedom, control over our resources, and the ability to make decisions that benefit us as a nation.
