Pituitary gland is often termed as master endocrine gland why? Which is the master of master gland?

The pituitary gland is often referred to as the "master endocrine gland" because it controls the functions of the other glands in the endocrine system. It does this by secreting hormones that regulate the actions of the other endocrine glands. These hormones control growth, metabolism, and fertility.

However, the pituitary gland itself is controlled by the hypothalamus, a region of the brain just above the pituitary. The hypothalamus sends signals to the pituitary gland telling it when to release or inhibit hormone production. Therefore, the hypothalamus is often referred to as the "master of the master gland".
