The National Quality Standards (NQS) in Australia are divided into seven (7) Quality Areas. However, the four most relevant to early childhood education and care services could be:

1. Quality Area 1: Educational Program and Practice: This standard ensures that the educational program and practice is stimulating, engaging and enhances children's learning and development. In services, this is demonstrated by implementing an approved learning framework, creating a positive learning environment, and having a strong focus on children's learning outcomes.

2. Quality Area 2: Children's Health and Safety: This standard is about ensuring children's health and safety. Services must provide a healthy and safe environment for children, have plans in place to effectively manage incidents and emergencies, and promote healthy eating and physical activity.

3. Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children: This standard is about educators developing respectful and responsive relationships with children. It involves educators treating all children with dignity and respect, and promoting a positive atmosphere in the service.

4. Quality Area 6: Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities: This standard is about services working with families and the community to enhance the children's learning and wellbeing. This can be demonstrated by maintaining respectful and supportive relationships with families, and establishing connections with the local community.

These four standards are crucial in ensuring that children are learning in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
