Solution

The saturation of a Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) is a state where both the junctions are forward biased. It is the ON state of the transistor. To saturate a BJT, the following conditions must be met:

(a) The base current (IB) must be equal to the collector current at saturation (ICsat). This means that the base current is high enough to make the transistor fully ON.

(b) The base current (IB) must be greater than the collector saturation current (ICsat) divided by the DC current gain (ฮฒDC). This ensures that the transistor is in the active region, where it can amplify signals.

(c) The collector-emitter voltage (VCC) must be at least 10V. This is to ensure that the transistor is not in the cutoff region, where it would be fully OFF.

Please note that these conditions are general and may vary depending on the specific BJT and the circuit in which it is used.
