Solution

The Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) in India can be any individual who fits the following criteria:

  1. The person should be committed to the cause of women.
  2. The person should be or has been a judge of a High Court.
  3. The person should be or has been a member of a State Commission for Women for at least three years.
  4. The person should be a person of ability, integrity, and standing who has had experience in law or legislation, human rights, social work, administration, finance or management.

The Chairperson is appointed by the Central Government and holds office for a term of three years or until the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
