Solution

An RDBMS, or Relational Database Management System, consists of the following:

  1. Collection of Tables: An RDBMS organizes data into one or more tables, each of which has a unique name. A table is a collection of records and each record in a table contains the same fields.

  2. Collection of Records: Each table in an RDBMS has records. A record is also known as a row. Each record in a table contains information about a specific item within the database.

  3. Collection of Fields: Each record in a table is divided into smaller entities known as fields. The fields store the data for the categories of information that are to be maintained in the table. For example, a table about students might have fields such as Student ID, Name, Course, etc.

  4. Collection of Keys: Keys are an essential part of an RDBMS. They are used to establish and identify relationships between tables. There are different types of keys like Primary Key, Foreign Key, etc. A primary key uniquely identifies a record in a table, while a foreign key is used to link two tables together.
